Since August, the issue over choosing the next CM candidate has been quietly booking within the party.
On 15th August a marathon meet was held by senior ministers who shuttled between CM Edappadi K Palaniswami residence and Deputy CM O Panneerselvam residence at Greenway road.
Post which a high-level meet was held in party Head Quarters which also clearly showed the divide between the factions, as Deputy CM OPS entered, he was greeted as 'future CM and Jaya's true Heir' while as CM EPS entered, his followers greeted him as 'Permanent CM'.
But even after a three-hour meet, no conclusive decision was taken except to hold an Executive Committee meet on 28th September.
300 party heads have been invited and Party officials claim that emphasis has been provided to maintain social distancing.
15 resolutions were passed in the meeting once including the demand to scrap NEET and not to build a dam over Cauvery River at Megadhadhu.
Shockingly, the entire stretch of road leading to the party headquarters was filled with party cadres following minimal social distancing norms.
Evidently, party cadres across the State are waiting for answers to who will be the next CM candidate and what plans does the party has when Sasikala is released from prison.
