It dropped down to the ‘severe’ category with the particulate matter (PM) with a diameter of 2.5 and 10 microns mounting to 336 and 498 micrograms per cubic respectively, according to Ministry of Earth Science's air quality monitor, System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also announced the cracker ban in the state to curb the pollution levels ahead of the festive season which is rising due to alarming stubble burning in the states of Punjab and Haryana.
