29:05Now PlayingOn The Urban Debate today, Aarti Subramaniam takes you through the latest details regarding farmers’ protest. Another round of talks was conducted by the Kisan Union leaders and the representatives of the Central Government, however, this meeting too had an inconclusive outcome.
Next round of meeting between the farmers’ leaders and the Union Government is scheduled on the 8th of January. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar stated that the meeting did not come to any conclusion as farmers were adamant about repealing the legislation.
How long will the Farmers-Government deadlock continue?
While, BKU-Bhanu, National Sr. Vice President, Thakur Kiranpal Singh says ‘Nobody will be against the law if it would benefit them. Government is adamant, they are not listening to Farmers demand’, BJP’s Anila Singh questions ‘There is no consensus between Farmer leaders. Why are farmers refusing to have a clause-wise discussion of Farm Laws?’
