The center today announced that the vaccine rollout will begin from January 16 and close to 30 Cr Indians will be vaccinated in the first phase. Prime Minister Modi also tweeted today and hailed the decision and clearly stated that the priority will be given to frontline workers, as promised by the Centre. PM Modi is also set to chair a meeting on Monday with all the state CMs and LGs of Union Territories. The decision has come after the Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan stated that the mega dry run drive has proved successful.
Dr. Deepak Natarajan asks how challenging will it be to ensure that people come back for the second dose? Dr. Rakesh Mishra states that one good advantage is that already certain dry runs are done. He further adds that this is an extraordinary exercise and proportionately well.
