This comes after a tweet by pop superstar Rihanna, extending support to the protesting farmers, drew vast global attention. Global teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg, as well as the US vice president's niece Meena Harris, showed their support on the microblogging site for Indian farmers which went viral gaining a large number of responses. India's external affairs ministry stated that the parliament had passed "reformist legislation relating to the agricultural sector" after a full debate and discussion.
