The locals of Palghar found the sailor's body in burnt condition alongside the road and took him to the hospital where he succumbed to his burn injuries. The Sailor in an earlier statement to the police had said that he was being kidnapped from Chennai airport 4 days ago and brought to Maharashtra. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of 10 lakh rupees.
