But, why is Maharashtra witnessing a fresh spike in COVID-19 cases? Who is responsible for the sudden surge? Is Maharashtra witnessing a second wave?
Senior Advisor, PHF of India & Member of COVID-19 Task Force, Maharashtra Dr Subhash says that ‘There can't be one particular reason for the spike in #COVID19 cases. Also, there is no guarantee that what is happening in #Maharashtra, won't happen in Northern India’.
While, National Co-Convener of Jan Swasthya Abhiyan, Dr Abhay Shukla says that ‘COVID-19 Pandemic is a counter-intuitive pandemic & the most number of deaths are happening in the most developed countries. What we are seeing is a series of interlinked micro epidemics’.
