The vaccination drive is now in its second phase, however, the constant surge in the number of COVID cases continues to be a cause of concern. Two central teams were rushed to Maharashtra in order to take stock of the worrisome situation and the findings are disastrous. Even after the government has implemented weekend lockdowns again, there is COVID inappropriate behavior, which is being observed. What needs to be taken into account is the fact that the schools have been shut for one year but now they need to be opened up because many students across India do not have the privilege of attending online classes and have suffered already. But are the state governments ready to open up a school and ensure COVID protocols and is it safe to send your young ones to school, when close to 60 students of a school in Haryana tested COVID positive.
