48:23Now PlayingOn The Urban Debate, Tanvi Shukla discusses the battle for Bengal which continues to intensify. TMC supremo and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee announced yesterday that she will be filing her nomination on March 11 and will be contesting elections from Nandigram this time. Nandigram is a strong foothold of ex-TMC MLA Suvendu Adhikari, who has now joined the BJP. Mamata Banerjee's announcement has now started an altogether different political battle, which is not confined to BJP and TMC but is now between Guru and Shishya. After announcing her candidature, Mamata Banerjee faced a lot of backlashes from the BJP, asking if the leader will be contesting elections from two seats. Mamata Banerjee clarified earlier today that she will be contesting only from Nandigram and has now taken it upon herself to defeat Suvendu Adhikari and BJP from the constituency.
She would not have been the CM of West Bengal if it was not for Nandigram; although Mamata Banerjee owes a lot to Nandigram, this election will test if Nandigram owes a lot to Mamata, states Avijit Ghosal.
