EC to club the remaining phases of the Bengal polls. There are 3 more phases to go as far as the WB elections are concerned in an 8 phased elections and now amid the emergency and spike in cases across the country including West Bengal, this request has surfaced. This is the second time when the TMC has approached the EC with a samilar request. Earlier during the 5th phase also the TMC had made a similar appeal with regards to the exponential rise in the covid cases. TMC also states that the EC should have kept this mind and maintained provision for a second wave hit in advance.
