With the second wave of Coronavirus going on in the country, the demand for oxygen has radically expanded due to which a massive shortage of oxygen beds can be observed in various states especially Maharashtra. The worsening condition in the state is leading to more and more fatal accidents. One such recent incident happened today when 57-year-old, Deepak Mhatre died gasping for breath on his wheelchair while he was waiting outside the hospital in Mumbai. He spent four harrowing hours looking for oxygen beds. Such grim situations in the state have prompted the cabinet ministers of the Maharashtra government for a strict lockdown to be imposed for a period of 15 days. The decision is likely to be taken later today.
