2:11Now PlayingPrashant Sankhe, a local BJP worker, was arrested by the Boisar police on Sunday for allegedly assaulting workers and damaging property at a private Covid hospital in Boisar, Palghar district, over allegedly inflated bills. Thunga hospital employees, including doctors and nurses, have threatened to go on strike unless Sankhe is apprehended. At the moment, there are 34 Covid patients in the hospital.
Before a Covid recovered patient was discharged, Sankhe came to the hospital to mediate between a patient's relative and the hospital, suspected over-billing. Sankhe reportedly slapped one of the hospital's employees during a confrontation. He smashed the computers and shattered the windows' glass panes. The medical team went to the Boisar police station and requested that Sankhe be charged with a crime. If Sankhe is not apprehended, they have threatened to go on strike.
