In a significant step, Justice Arindam Sinha, a serving judge on the Calcutta High Court, has written to Acting Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and other High Court justices, objecting to the way the CBI's transfer motion in the Narada case was filed as a writ petition before a Division Bench. Based on an email submitted by the CBI to the Court and a mention by Additional Solicitor General YJ Dastoor, a Division Bench of the High Court heard the transfer petition under Section 407 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on May 17.
