According to the Central Bank's annual report for 2020-21, given the country's expected 8% GDP decline in 2020-21, such asset price inflation creates the risk of a bubble. The increase in the stock market has been attributed by the RBI to liquidity injected to promote the economic recovery and FPI investments. Though it believes that economic prospects influence stock market movement, it argues that the impact is less than that of money supply and FPI. Listen in!
