Boris Johnson, speaking at the conclusion of a G7 leaders' conference in southwest England on Sunday, said the dosages would be delivered both directly and through the international COVAX program. The pledge falls well short of the 11 billion doses required to vaccinate at least 70% of the world's population by mid-2022 and genuinely stop the pandemic, according to the World Health Organization's director-general. Following their three-day summit, which Boris Johnson hosted, the Group of Seven leaders are likely to make additional pledges.
