2:49Now PlayingA Kashmiri man has been arrested for allegedly "promoting animosity" by publicly stating that he "has hope solely in native officials" and not outsiders. The 55-year-old gave his viewpoint at a public hearing organized by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha last week in Ganderbal. Even after receiving temporary bail two days after his arrest on June 10, Sajad Rashid Sofi of Safapora, Ganderbal, remained under preventive detention. Ganderbal Deputy Commissioner Krittika Jyotsna, who was present at the meeting, was evidently enraged by his remarks. According to the police report, she "stood up from her seat and aggressively objected."
