1:57Now PlayingAccording to a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office on Sunday, the prime minister will unveil the second instalment of the scheme on August 10. The programme has been expanded to include women from seven additional categories. Provision for an additional one crore LPG connections under the plan was announced in the Union Budget for the financial year 2021-22. These extra connections are intended to provide deposit-free PG connections to low-income families who were not included in the previous phase. Today at 12:30 Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ujjwala 2.0 scheme by distributing LPG cylinder connections to Mahoba residents in Uttar Pradesh. PM Modi spoke with the beneficiaries and addressed the country during the occasion, which was held via video conference.
