The Rs 6 lakh crore monetisation plan was announced by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday, August 23rd. The plan is aimed at "unlocking value" by involving private companies from across the infrastructure sectors. As per the monetisation plan, up to 25 airports, 40 railway stations, and 15 railway stadiums, among other installations, have been identified to get private investments.
