On Monday, August 23, two First Information Reports (FIRs) were registered against the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of India, Narayan Rane, for his 'slap' remark against the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Bal Thackeray. The lawyer of the Union Minister approached the Bombay High Court for quashing the FIRs registered against him. Narayan Rane is currently in a local Bharatiya Janta Party office where the workers are not allowing the police to go in and detain him. Massive protests have erupted in Ratnagiri.
