2:36Now PlayingThe Karnataka High Court has ordered the state government to submit a status report on its efforts to distribute textbooks and notebooks to all students in Class 9 and 10. According to the court, requiring pupils to attend school without textbooks or notebooks is "meaningless and purposeless." The state administration told a division bench of Justices B V Nagarathna and P Krishna Bhat that textbooks will be distributed to all pupils in a phased manner by the end of September. On Monday, the Karnataka government permitted students in grades 9 through 12 to return to school. Following a meeting with education and health specialists on the condition of COVID-19 in the state, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai decided to reopen schools. Watch the video to know more
