On August 24, Tuesday, Senior Advocate Vijay Hansaria submitted a report before the Supreme Court concerning speedy disposal of cases against lawmakers. Hansaria was appointed as the amicus curiae in the case. A status report on pending PMLA cases was submitted to Hansaria by the Union of India on August 9, 2021; relying on that status report submitted to him, Hansaria presented in the court that a total of 51 MPs and 71 MLAs/MLCs are accused in cases arising out of offences under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
