On August 28, Saturday, in 24 hours India reported nearly 46,759 new coronavirus infection cases. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed that the surge in positive cases has taken the country's tally to a total of 3,26,49,947 positive cases. Kerala recently recorded a fresh number of COVID-19 cases. The count is at 32,801 fresh infection cases and 179 deaths. As per the statement from the Union ministry of health and family welfare, the state is accountable for more than half of all the active coronavirus infection cases in India, followed closely by Maharashtra.
