On Sunday (August 29), Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has defended Karnal's SDM orders against protesting farmers. The state Chief Minister said that the farmers gave assurance of a peaceful protest but stones were thrown at the police personnel and a highway was also blocked by the farmers. As per the reports, on Saturday afternoon, when police allegedly lathicharged farmers on SDM's order around 10 people were injured. The farmers were headed towards Karnal district to raise their voices against a BJP meeting which was attended by Manohar Lal Khattar. In the viral video, Karnal's SDM Ayush Sinha is seen directing police personnel and telling them that no protesting farmer should go beyond the barricades.
