Haryana Deputy minister Dushyant Chautala has promised strict action against the SDM. Varun Gandhi, a BJP MP, was taken aback by SDM's directives, calling them "unacceptable." Protesting farmers were baton-charged by police at the Bastara toll plaza in Karnal.
