13:10Now PlayingOn the Urban Debate, with Tanvi Shukla, we discuss about the new PF rules. We will talk about the EPFO account holders, whether they work for a private company or for the government. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance Minister, unveiled the budget for 2021, in which she discussed the new PF regulations. The minister stated that anybody who deposit more than 2.5 lakh rupees to their PF accounts will have their interest taxable. Taxes will have to be paid on earned income, but there will be no tax on contributions until March 31, 2021. Prior to the implementation of the new set of regulations, interest earned was tax-free; however, this is about to change, and the new rules will take effect in April 2021. People who invest less than 2.5 lakh rupees, on the other hand, will not have to pay any taxes. Watch the entire debate to know more.
