10:04Now PlayingPunjab elections were deferred by 6 days to February 20 after multiple parties requested the Election Commission for the same citing Guru Ravidas Jayanti. The elections will take place on 20th February instead of 14 February. The move comes after parties approached the EC seeking deferral in view of the birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas that falls on February 16. The Dalit population is over 30 per cent in Punjab so parties also eye Scheduled Caste voters.
