1:59Now PlayingAccording to sources, a meeting of the Election Commission will be held today to determine whether the Punjab assembly election can be postponed as asked by leaders of many political groups. Around midday, the Election Commission is expected to make a verdict on the subject. In a letter to the Election Commission, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi proposed that the assembly elections scheduled for February 14 be postponed by at least six days to accommodate Guru Ravidas Jayanti. The BJP and its allies, including former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh's Punjab Lok Congress, have also asked the Election Commission to postpone the February 14 election in Punjab.
