The High Court said, 'if illegally intercepted messages or audio conversations are permitted as evidence, it would manifest arbitrariness and promote scant regard to the procedures and Fundamental Rights of the citizens.' The court was hearing a matter of bribery in MBBS admissions in a Patiala college. The court further added, "the order for interception could be issued on either the occurrence of any public emergency or in the interest of public safety, as per Supreme Court's judgement." These heavy statements made by the court are important.
