The sports complex is to be inaugurated by a Congress party leader who represents Mumbai in Maharashtra’s legislative assembly, Aslam Shaikh. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have objected to the inauguration of the complex on January 26. They have tweeted that the inauguration is condemnable because a “brutal, barbaric anti-Hindu ruler” will be honoured.
