The rules which were rolled out in 2021 prescribed a three-tier structure and code of ethics. But various High Courts had stayed the three-tier structure and the code of ethics of the Government. Now, an RTI has revealed that the Government has been using the three-tier format across OTT platforms and many websites and platforms have followed the prescribed rules. The Government has claimed that not all IT rules were stayed by the High Court. We ask the important question- is the Government on the right side of the High Courts' rules?
