Incidents of shooting and stone pelting were also reported before the first phase of the elections. Owing to the violence in the state, the election commission has ordered repolling in 12 polling stations in Manipur. The repolling is also being conducted due to the damaging of the EVMs in these polling booths. Meanwhile, situations continue to remain tense in the state. The second phase of polling is scheduled to take place on March 5.
