11:26Now PlayingVoting for the sixth phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls concluded on Thursday, with over 53 per cent voter turnout recorded till 5 pm. 57 seats across 10 districts Gorakhpur, Ballia, Kushinagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar and Deoria went to polls in the sixth phase. The fate of political heavyweights including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Congress’ Ajay Kumar Lallu and Samajwadi Party’s Swami Prasad Maurya was decided on Thursday. Adityanath fought his first Assembly polls from Gorakhpur Urban. Today after casting the vote, the Chief Minister appealed to the electorate to vote on the issues of development and security. Addressing the media, he said, "I hope people will vote in large numbers. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the BJP will set a record in the poll victory by winning a large number of seats. We will win over 80 per cent of the seats in the state."
