1:38Now PlayingAs per breaking inputs coming in on Mirror, the Rajya Sabha has passed the Delhi Municipal Corporation Amendment Bill 2022 through a voice vote. The bill unify the BJP-led three municipal corporations of Delhi (i.e. North, East, & South Delhi,) evoking sharp reactions from the opposition. The Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022, was passed after it was tabled in the Rajya Sabha by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Bill, seeking an amendment to the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act of 1957, was also cleared by the Lok Sabha on March 30. Reportedly, this comes in ten years after the trifurcation of the civic body.
