As per the latest news on Mirror Now, the Subject Expert Committee under the drug regulator has recommended India's first indigenously developed vaccine against cervical cancer for the 9-26 year age group. The expert group reviewed the trial data of the vaccine that has been developed by the Serum Institute of India. When included in the National Immunisation Programme this will be the country's biggest push against cervical cancer, the fourth most common cancer in women.
