Tamil Nadu's education minister Anbil Mahesh revealed details about the state's new independent education policy in an exclusive chat with Mirror Now. He said that Tamil Nadu Education Policy Won't Have References To National Education Policy. He also said " On 15 meetings were conducted and around 13 members participated. Every alternate Saturday they are planning to schedule the meeting. We will get input from different people, based on that we will form a State Education Policy. Our Cm is having lots of things in his mind. Like most of the states we are against NEP. We have already discussed a lot about NEP. We will decide what we want for our state. We don't want any references to NEP."

Meanwhile, Mohan Krishna said," New Education Policy is updated but why resist this?
"You can't ride with your federal system as per convenience.", said SS Sriram, Political Analyst
"Drafting a good policy is one thing but to make it national is another challenge,"said Nayan Parikh, Educationist.
