The Indian army and police launched a joint operation in Kulgam. During the search, terrorists opened fire on the forces from inside the house. As per the Army statement, the terrorists were newly recruited. The army showed restraints not to engage with the terrorists. Terrorists were instead contained and eventually surrendered. One of the terrorists said, "A few days ago, I was activated on the motivation of militant Arbaaz, a Lashkar militant. Tonight I came to Hadigam, after which I openly fired at the police and security forces."
