YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe Court refused to pass a blanket order on demolitions across the state, saying that such a move would curtail the rights of municipal authorities. The Court was hearing a petition by Muslim body Jamiat Ulama against the demolition exercises, which it was alleged specifically targeted at the minority community. The Uttar Pradesh government, the primary respondent in the case, has filed a fresh affidavit in the Supreme Court saying that the bulldozer demolitions in the state were lawful and that the public litigation was filed to mislead. Meanwhile, the Jamait body had filed a petition on the 13th of June after the civil administration in Prayagraj and Kanpur had demolished some houses of the accused in the violence over the Prophet Row.
