On Thursday, Edappadi K Palaniswami, the temporary general secretary of the AIADMK, removed 18 party officials from the primary membership, including the two sons of expelled leader O Panneerselvam, Lok Sabha member O P Ravindranath, and V P Jayapradeep. For his part, Panneerselvam expelled 22 party members for engaging in anti-party acts, including EPS and former ministers. In addition, the OPS camp wrote to chief secretary V Irai Anbu to demand action after accusing EPS, the head of the opposition in the state assembly, of "operating a rival party office" in a government-allocated bungalow.
