The helicopter crashed at Garud Chatti, about 2 kilometers from the Kedarnath Dham shrine. Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami has ordered an investigation. Uttarakhand SDRF Commandant Manikant Mishra confirmed the deaths in the chopper crash, which was reported to have occurred minutes after takeoff. The tragedy is thought to have been caused by adverse weather.
