Tomorrow (October 28) is the scheduled start of Chhath Puja throughout India, but the poisonous froth in Delhi's Yamuna river raises concerns about the authorities' level of preparation. Prior to Chhath Puja, on Thursday morning in the Kalindi Kunj region, there was significant pollution and hazardous froth in the Yamuna river. To celebrate the event, the government assigned various ghats along the Yamuna bank. According to LG office sources, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena approved of performing Chhath Puja in specified ghats on the Yamuna while cautioning Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal against "misleading and premature publicity" over the matter.
