1:42Now PlayingThe 76th Infantry Day was observed on Thursday by the Northern Command in Udhampur in remembrance of the operations carried out on this day in 1947 by the Indian Army to prevent Pakistani aggression in Jammu and Kashmir. A customary wreath-laying ceremony was held to commemorate the day at the Command headquarters' Dhruva War Memorial. Everybody remembers the heroic sacrifices made by the Indian Army to uphold the honour and integrity of the country on this sombre day. In place of Northern Command commander Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Staff (CoS) Lieutenant General N S Raja Subramani placed a wreath. Lt Gen Subramani praised all ranks and veterans for their commitment to duty and unwavering attitude despite working in difficult circumstances.
