1. Police have filed a charge sheet against 3 persons in the Muruga Mutt Scandal, according to a breaking development out of Karnataka. This relates to the allegation of sexual assault against the seer of the Muruga Mutt that he molested youngsters. The decision by the police comes as a big blow for the seer who has been disputing the claims from the start, even though the specifics of the charge sheet are still pending.
2. This time, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are at odds about who has the right to hold Chhath Puja. Rakhi Jadhav, the head of the NCP, was denied permission by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to hold the Puja at the Acharya Prahlad Keshav Atre ground in Ghatkopar East, but the Atal Samajik Sanstha was given permission to use the same location.
