0:42Now PlayingOn Wednesday, a bird flu epidemic was confirmed in the municipality of Haripad's Vazhuthanam. The Thakazhi gramme panchayat's ward number 10 has confirmed cases of bird flu. A containment zone has been established around the location after thee 10th ward's bird flu confirmation. There are restrictions on both automobile and pedestrian travel in the area. A Alexander, the district collector for Alappuzha, presided over an emergency meeting and made the decision to step up the efforts to stop the bird flu from spreading to neighbouring places.
In the impacted areas, the District Administration has outlawed the use and sale of domestic bird excrement, eggs, and meat. Champakulam, Nedumudi, Muttar, Viyapuram, Karuvatta, Thrikkunnapuzha, Thakazhi, Purakkad, Ambalapuzha South, Ambalapuzha North, Edathva panchayats, and the Harippad Municipality area will all be subject to this restriction.
