Pro-Kannada groups pelted stones and smeared black ink on Maharashtra trucks in Belagavi. These protests were led by an organisation called Karnataka Rakshana Vedike. Protesters blocked roads and staged a sit-in protest. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra opposition attacked BJP over the border dispute. Uddhav Thackeray alleged that BJP is helping Bommai govt in the ongoing border row. He also said that Karnataka is claiming certain villages from Maharashtra with BJP's support. Uddhav added that BJP is doing all these to win the 2023 Karnataka assembly polls. However, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai has rubbished Uddhav's claims.
