The Battle For Belagavi Escalates, CMs Of States Hold 'Positive Talks' Over Phone

In this episode of Beyond The Headlines, the host Tamanna Inamdar will be discussing how The continuing conflict between Maharashtra and Karnataka reached new heights on Tuesday when state buses from Kolhapur were prohibited from travelling through disputed border regions like Belagavi and Nipani. Protesters from Karnataka also painted some buses with black ink. Sharad Pawar, the leader of the NCP, spoke to the media on Tuesday about the Maharashtra-Karnataka boundary conflict. He expressed concern over the situation in Belagavi, the contentious region, and claimed that Marathi residents there are living in a "terrorised" environment. He stated "What I am hearing is worrying and people from there (Belagavi) frequently get in touch with me. Karnataka CM Bommai would be held accountable if attacks on Maharashtra-registered vehicles don't stop in the following 24 hours. Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, had a conversation with Bommai, the chief minister of Karnataka. He reaffirmed that his government was devoted to securing the borders and ensuring the welfare of Kannadigas. Chandrakant Patil and Shambhuraj Desai were scheduled to travel to Belagavi by order of the Maharashtra government to discuss the border problem, but their trip has been postponed. Patil and Desai were chosen to serve as the issue's co-coordinating ministers. Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai had forbade the ministers from visiting Belagavi.
