2:10Now PlayingThe police have identified and arrested the accused car driver in the Kolkata hit and run case where a student student of Aliah University was run over by a speeding car in West Bengal's Capital city Kolkata. The Incident took place in Kolkata's New Town area on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as a final-year student, Shakil Ahmed. Shaqeel was hit by a car in front of the university's campus where he was reportedly lying unattended in a pool of blood. Friends took him to hospital where he was declared dead. Students staged a massive protest and blocked one flank of the service road connecting New Town and Chinar Park. In addition to the arrest of the car driver, they also demanded immediate installation of traffic signals and the deployment of traffic constables in the area. Watch the news to know more.
