3:19Now PlayingIn retaliation for the arrest of a PCS official by the Vigilance Bureau on suspicion of corruption in Ludhiana, the five-day informal mass leave cum strike by Punjab Civil Services officers is called off. The strike was halted as a result of the government giving the PCS officers a severe deadline of 2 p.m. on Wednesday to report back to work or risk being suspended. The choice was made during today's meeting between PCS officers and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. After the discussion, some PCS officers declared that they would immediately resume their work. Mann took a firm stance in response to the state vigilance bureau's arrest of PCS officer Narinder Singh Dhaliwal in Ludhiana, which caused services at the state's administrative offices to be disrupted for five days starting on Monday.
