The event was captured on surveillance camera footage while Juhi Kumari and Shanti Kumari sat at the door of the Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank in the Senduari Chowk neighbourhood of the Sadar Police Station. When requested to show their papers, one of the men grabbed a revolver, but Juhi and Shanti immediately rose to confront them. The subsequent battle resulted in Juhi's injury, but the robbers who were now alarmed decided not to continue robbing the bank. "All three of them confirmed that they had worked in banks when I inquired if they had. They pulled out a revolver when I asked them to display the passbook," stated Juhi Kumari.
