This comes after his wife filed a complaint alleging that Kambli hit her on the head. The Mumbai Police have now filed an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code against the former cricketer. Hewitt filed a police complaint with the Bandra police, accusing him of hurling a cooking pan at her, causing head injuries. As a result, Vinod Kambli was charged under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 324 (voluntarily causing harm with dangerous weapons) and 504 (insult). Kambli's wife claims he was under the influence of alcohol when he hit her on the head.
