4:26Now PlayingOn January 30, an incident occurred aboard an American Airlines flight from Delhi to New York, during which a female cancer patient was allegedly offloaded from the plane. Meenakshi Sengupta, the woman, had recently undergone surgery and needed the assistance of a flight attendant to keep her handbag, which weighed more than 5 pounds, in the overhead compartment. Sengupta stated in her complaint to the Delhi Police and Civil Air that the flight attendant refused to assist her despite her request for assistance due to her weak limbs. The DGCA has taken note of the situation and has asked American Airlines to submit a report. The airline issued a statement saying that its customer relations team had contacted Sengupta and offered to reimburse her for the flight.
